Eagles Win: Lady Eagles Lose in Close One

Dayton, TN -- Rhea County split a match against Soddy on Monday, August 9, 2021 vs Soddy Daisy. The Eagles won their match and Lady Eagles dropped a close one to Soddy. Matthew Rothwell carded a 9 hole 42 score for medalist honors as low scorer in men's match. Blake Wheat shot a 46, Nolan Purser a 50 and Brayden Reel a 52 for a team total of 190 for the Eagles Soddy was led by Mason Cantrell with a 44. Also scoring for Soddy Daisy was Carson Bowser 61 and Garrett Beacch 59. Soddy only fielded three golfers and per TSSAA rules Rhea County was awarded the win.

Soddy girls' team shot a team total of 101 with Kati Pourfazib leading the way with a 49 and Avery Brandon carding a 52. Lady Eagles carded a 103, with Rebecca Rogers leading the way with 47(low score for match) and Lillie Hunt scoring a 56. Nikkita Pilcher also played for the Lady Eagles.
