RCHS Senior Jenna Burchard Signs with SBU

April 2026: Evensville, TN: Rhea County High School

Rhea County High School Jenna Burchard signed to play basketball at Southwest Baptist University. Family, friends, coaches fellow students and players and others were present for the ceremony. Jenna has played very well for the Rhea County Lady Eagles over the last 4 years, amassing over 1500 career points. Jenna has played guard, forward and post during her time at Rhea County. She brings good post moves, nice ball handling and good interior shooting. Jenna has also ran track during her time at Rhea County.

Jenna has played basketball for 11 years. She has received several awards during her career, including All-Region and All-District. Jenna played for head coach Tracy Vest during her four years at Rhea County. She played middle school ball at Spring City Middle School. She is projected to play center or power forward at the college level.

Jenna will pursue a course of study for Psychology at college and plans to attain a PHD and become a clinical psychologist or work in research field.

Rhea County's new head coach and former assistant Lauren Messimer said, "Jenna is a one-in-a-Liftime player for me as far as work ethic. There is not much that we asked her to do, that she has not done. She can do it all, handle the ball, be a post player, etc. She has never complained, never whined. I know she will do well at whatever level she plays."
