Eagles Use Big 2nd Quarter to Take Lead and Hold On Despite Big Irish 4th Quarter

Chattanooga, TN -- Rhea County traveled to Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga for a rematch with Notre Dame, which had beaten Eagles 55-50 in Evensville back on November 19, 2024. Eagles pushed out to 9-0 lead in first 2:30 on 3-pt baskets, but did not score for the rest of quarter for the 9-5 lead after one quarter of play. Second quarter saw Eagles outscore Notre Dame 21-7 to push halftime lead to 30-12. Carr and Geer had big quarter for the Eagles with Geer banking a three point basket at the buzzer for the final score.

The teams played to an 18-18 tie in the thrid quarter to keep Eagles up 48-30 after three quarters. Notre Dame mounted a comeback in fourth, but could not close the margin as Eagles won 64-58. Braylon Geer, Caleb Carr and Sam Ervin all finished in double figures at 18, 16 and 13 points respectively. Carr added a team high 8 rebounds and Geer was tops in assists with 7 assists on the night.
