Dance Group Talks About Irish Dancing

Dayton, TN -- During Strawberry Festival recently, one of the groups performing on the Centennial Stage in downtown Dayton was the Tennessee Irish Dancers. This dance studio is located in Knoxville, but the teacher is a Rhea County resident Katie Carver, who works in Spring City. At the festival event, seven girls performed various Irish dances and the crowd was excited to see this unique dance style.

The studio is located at 201 Sherway Road in Knoxville Katie Karver began teahing Irish Dancing back in 2007. She began with five dancers. Katie saw "Riverdance" in Boston when she was 10 and was hooked for life. She already had a background of ballet dancing. She began dancing Irish dance at the age of 16. She traveled the world competing and then decided in 2007 to teach. She lives in Spring City.
The Tennessee Irish Dancers offer classes starting at age 5, as well as adult and competition classes! They are the only traditional Irish dance school in East Tennessee!
