Vineyard and Campbell Lead Offense and Defense Vs Lenoir City

Lenoir City, TN 8/28/25 -- Gavin Clark ,Gage Coulter and Elijah Smith were captains for Spring City. Lenoir City received the opening kickoff. Lenoir City had a nice return to their own 40-yard line. Lenoir City got a nice pass play to move down to the 31 of Bulldogs and followed with end run down to the 15-yard line. After a lengthy injury delay, game resumed and Lenoir scored the opening touchdown of the game from 3 yards out at 3:51 mark, after Liam Rogers' reception.

Fuller picked up the onside kick and Bulldogs were in business at their own 40-yard line. Campbell had nice run to the 45 of the Panthers and then Collyn Groce moved the ball to the 9 yard line. Campell went untouched around the left end for the touchdown and then tacked on the 2 yard run for 8-8 tie.

Onside kic was recovered by Bulldogs' around their 35. Panthers had a nice drive that extended over the end of first quarter and included a made 4th down attempt. A Wentz to Jackson pass put the ball at Bulldogs 14 with first down. Two consecutive penalties cost the Panthers 10 yards and forced them to the air, which was not good. The pass was picked off by Collyn Groce around the 4 yard line.

After a couple of modest gains to the 29, Vineyard streaked up the middle of the field for 71 yards for the go-a-head touchdown with 2:31 left in half. Cayden Jolley added 2 points on the conversion pass for 16-8 lead. Onside kick was brought back to the 40-yard line. Panthers moved the ball down to the 30 of the Bulldogs. But time ran out on the half as Hickman and Roberts found quarterback Wentz in the backfield to end the half.

Bulldogs began second half at midfield after onside kick recovery. From the Panther's 46, Vineyard fought off a couple of would be tacklers and raced down the sideline for the touchdown with 6:37 left in third quarter and 2-point conversion was incomplete and Bulldogs led 22-8.

Liam Rogers downed the kickoff at their 35-yard line. Walker and Roberts made big stop at Bulldog's 45 to force a turnover on downs for Lenoir. Bulldogs' Collyn Groce took the handoff, traveled down the line until he found a crease and raced in for the final Bulldog touchdown of the night with 45 seconds remaining in third quarter. Campbell slipped out of the backfield for the toss and Bulldogs increased the lead to 30-8.

Panthers began next series from the Bulldog's 48-yard line. Collyn Groce made the big hit on Panther runner and Brantley Miller recovered the fumble to give Spring City the ball at Lenoir City. The quarter ended during the Bulldogs drive, but as Bulldogs drove inside the 20, they coughed the ball up and Lenoir City got the ball around the 20. Panthers turned the ball over on downs and Bulldogs ran out the clock for the 30-8 win to run record to 4-0 on season. The varsity will next play at Rhea Middle on Thursday, September 4th. JV is scheduled to return to Lenoir City game on Tuesday, September 2nd.

For his 139 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, Myles Vineyard was named the TCM Player of the Game.
