Spring City Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams Win Over Harriman

Spring City enjoyed a good evening of success with 2 varsity basketball wins over visiting Harriman Middle School on Monday, November 27, 2023. The girls began the night with a 39-25 win over Harriman and boys followed with 42-24 win over Harriman.

Spring City rode the 8 points by Harlan Thomas to a 12-8 first quarter lead before Aiden Oliver helped power Harriman to the 15-14 first half lead with his 11 first-half points. 5 different Bulldogs scored in the 3rd quarter and Spring City held onto a 25-24 lead. In the fourth, it was all Bulldogs as they scored 17 unanswered points, with Harlan Thomas(9) and E.J. Castaneda(5) doing most of the damage.

Spring City Lady Bulldogs 39 Harriman 25

Spring City Lady Bulldogs won 39-21 on Monday night in a home game to push their season record to 7-3. Jaslyn Butler scored 25 points to lead Spring City. In a low scoring first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs gained a 6-3 lead. The second quarter was a big offensive outburst by the Lady Eagles with 16 points vs the 6 points by Harriman. Khloe Rector had 7 points to power the Lady Bulldogs in the 2nd quarter. Lady Devils played much closer in the second half, but Spring City won 39-25. Khloe Recctor had 7 points to support Jaslyn Butler. Other scorers for Spring City were Tayla Daniels 4, Kinley Whitcomb 2 and Peyton Berry 1.

Harriman Girls were led by led by Maddie Kries and Campbell Henley with 7 points. Also scoring were Cayle Cyrus 4, Tatum Henderson 3 and TaNaya Scanalyn 2 points.
