SCMS finishes undefeated in SVC play

Jasper, TN -- Spring City finished the season unbeaten in SVC(Sequatchie Valley Conference) play with their 44-14 win over South Pittsburg Elementary on Thursday in game played at South Pittsburg High School Bulldogs ran their record to 6-0 on the year overall and 6-0 in league play.
The Bulldogs have one game left on the schedule with county rival Spring City on Thursday at Dayton City School with 7 pm start. Hopefully, Dayton City will be healthy for game as injuries have hampered their play the last couple of games.
In the South Pittsburg game Hunter Crowe opened up the scoring with touchdown run and added two point conversion for 8-0 lead. Crowe socred a second touchdown and Cooper Bracket added conversion for 16-0 lead. Lattron Alloway scored third touchdown, but conversion was no good and score went to 22-0. South Pitt scored and converted conversion to cut into the lead at 22-8. Crowe added his third touchdown of the half to give Bulldogs a 28-8 halftime lead as two point conversion failed.
In second half Cooper Bracket and Latron Alloway added touchdowns and Crowe added a pair of two point converions to offset the South Pitt touchdown for the final 44-14 score.
SCMS head coach Anthony Loden said, "I am very pround of how our team came out and took it to South Pitt. South Pitt is a good team with lots of team speed."

In Dayton vs Spring City last year, Spring City jumped out to early 16-0 lead in first quarter, but DCS came back with flurry, scoring 20 unanswered points for 20-16 halftime lead. DCS added to lead to begin second half with Dupre touchdown and Davis conversion for 28-16 lead. Alloway got six back to put Bulldogs down 28-22. Bulldogs then converted a Sweatbee fumble into six with Kade Houston touchdown. Two point conversion was stopped for 28-28 tie and thanks to penalty negating a fabulous 75 year Ethan Davis touchdown run, regulation ended in 28-28 tie. In overtime it was Bulldogs with the score to win 34-28.
