Butler and Thomas Lead Spring City to Wins
November 21, 2023 - Dunlap, TN
Spring City won both middle school basketball varsity games played at Dunlap on Tuesday against Sequatchie Middle. Lady Eagles began the night with 35-17 win, sparked by 11-0 first quarter with Butler scoring all 11 points. Sequatchie played much closer the second and third quarters, and Lady Bulldogs finished with strong 4th quarter for the 35-17 win. Butler led Lady Bulldogs with 21. Also scoring for Spring City were Peyton Berry 6, Khloe Rector 4, Taylor Lambert 2 and Emma Thompson 2. Scoring for Sequatchie: Rayanna Walker 13, Kiley Billingsly 2, Lona Yawn 1 and Emmy Edgmon 1.

Spring City Middle and Sequatchie swapped good quarters with 8-3 first quarter for Spring City and 7-3 first quarter for Warriors to trail 11-10 at the half. Bulldogs came out strong in third quarter 12-8 to take 23-18 lead into the 4th. Bulldogs held on for the 27-21 win. Harlan Thomas and Mack Chattin led the Bulldogs with 10 and 8 points respectively. Also scoring were Gavyn Crowe 4, Bodie Marchetti 3 and Rhett Roberson 2. Scoring for Sequatchie: Hank Vanderburg 2, Josh Perry 6, Braxton Mayfield 5 and Braylon Hobbs 6.
