Spring city opens with 3 home games, beginning with McMinn on Monday 8/4/25

Spring City, TN -- Spring City returns 8th graders Ella Mullins ,Karley Smith, Jaelyn Lawson, Kamari Stampe,  Sienna Fisher and 7th Grader - Talaysia Smith. Spring City lost Maysa Hampton on the mound and Abbagayle Buffenbarger 3rd base. Assisting Randy this year will be Craig Mullins and Jamie Mathis.

SCMS head coach Randy Mathis says "These players were all starters last season and bring some competitiveness to the team and I look for these ladies to make some noise this season."

Asked Mathis what strength of team would be this year?

"Strength of the team - We have great pitching this year and we will have some great fielders and our hitting will come. These girls are very coachable so I’m excited to see what they can do. We have a lot of girls who have never played softball but are very athletic and coachable so it should be a fun year."

Asked Mathis what he saw as top competition in the league?

"As always Rhea Middle, Sweetwater and Meigs will be very talented. There should be some great games this year. If we can learn from our mistakes and get better every day, then we will definitely be in the mix when district tournament time comes around."
