Ashley Will Be Teamed With Sister Hannah At Carson Newman

Sale Creek, TN -- Ashley Holland, the much decorated golfer for Sale Creek High School made official her committment to Carson Newman, as she inked scholarship papers this week. Ashley had made her committment public this summer. Friends, family, teammates and former coaches were on hand for the signing. Ashley will join her sister Hannah, who transferred to Carson Newman recently. Ashley is the dauhger of Mark and Trisha Holland.
Ashley and her teammates have picked up seveal honors during her five year career on the Sale Creek High School team. Individually, curing her junior year, Ashley won 1st in Distric t and Region Championships. She came in 2nd in the City Prep Tournament. She also finished 6th in the State Championship and Sale Creek finished 3rd as a team.
During Ashley's senior season, she repeated as District and Region Champion. She also won the prestigious City Prep Tournament with a low score of 71. She went unbeaten in district and region play her junior and senior years. She finished up 7th at State Championship in senior year.
After the signing, Ashley spoke with Rhea County Magazine.
Ashley said, "I am very excited to be playing with my sister at Carson Newman. I know several players on the team. Playing as 8th graders on Sale Creek was intimidating but I improved and became more comfortable as I progressed. My sophomore year, I signed up for recruitng sites and began to play at level that would make me believe I could play at college level."
"Carson Newman is not too big or too small. I feels like home and somewhere safe to me. The coach is really amazing."

- Ranked # 14 in State Rankings.
- Ashley and teammates finished 3rd in State Championships 3 years.
