Ronald Arthur “Ron” Way, age 86 of Evensville, passed away in Dunlap on Sunday, October 13, 2024. He was born in Burlington, NC, on January 26, 1938, the son of the late John D. and Geraldine Way. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Grant) Way; his step-mom, “Momma Jean” (Bond) Way; his brothers, John Way, Jr. and Bobby Way; and his sister, Hope Way.

Ron was a high school graduate and attended the Radio Broadcast Institution. He lived in Rhea County since 1962 and was employed as an orderly at Rhea Medical Center and worked at Dayton Products. He enjoyed eating breakfast at Shoney’s, working with radios and TVs, fishing, trains and steam locomotives, reading his Bible, and witnessing for Jesus. He was a member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church in Hixson.

Ron is survived by his sons, Mark Way of Evensville and Mike Way of Chattanooga; his grandchildren, Daniel Way of LaVergne and Sarah Way of Knoxville; his sisters, Peggy (Ted) White and Dianne Norwood, all of Burlington, NC; and an amazing group of relatives, and close friends.

Funeral services for Ron will be in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Smith and Rev. Bill Smithson officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, Tennessee, where they will receive friends on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, after 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
