Lady Eagles Use 11 Hits 7 Walks to Hold Off Loftis For Win

Evensville, TN -- On 8th grade night, the Rhea Middle School softball team used 11 hits and 7 walks to outlast Loftis 14-13 on Monday, September 19th. Rhea began in good fashion with 5 runs in bottom of first to counter the single run given up in top of first. Lady Eagles went with two outs as Aubrey Breeding and Landree Brown each had big hits after Reece Brown and Ava Sanders reached at top of order. With two outs the Lady Eagles scored 5 runs. Scoring for Lady Eagles were R. Brown, Sanders, Breeding, L. Brown and Presley Bradshaw. Loftis came back with 5 runs of their own to take 6-5 lead going into bottom of second. Rhea responded with 6 more runs in bottom of inning. Reece Brown, Ava Sanders, and Keeli Wilson reached via single, walk and double to open the inning. After Aubrey Reese singled, the Lady Eagles were once again looking up at 2 outs, but went on to score 3 more runs in the inning with Landree Brown, Carleigh Ashley and Bristol Hennessey getting singles to help the Lady Eagles score 3 more runs.
In top of the 3rd inning, Loftis would not go away, as they scored 6 runs to take the lead 12-11. Ansley Breeding led off the bottom of 3rd with double and Aubrey Reece and Presley Bradshaw followed with walks. All 3 runners scored the tying, go-a-head and eventual winning runs in the bottom of third as they held off Loftis in bottom of 3rd for the 14-13 win.
Landree Brown led the Lady Eagles with 3 singles. Aubrey Reece had two singles and several players had hits to compile the 11 hits.
