Junior Varsity Eagles win 1-0
3/28/24 - Ooltewah, TN -- Thursday, March 28th, saw the Eagles travel to East Hamilton on a perfect day for the beautiful game of soccer. JV started off first with a back-and-forth battle, tied 0-0 at halftime. The second half saw the same action, with both teams holding each other scoreless until Seth Smith managed to take control of the ball for a drive up and shot on the Cane’s goal to make it 1-0 with about 7 minutes left to play. Final victory of 1-0 for JV.
The Varsity action followed with some gorgeous movement of the ball by our Eagles with plenty of action in the first half with Gio Pacheco starting off the action, followed by Jeremy Perez, Ian Arnold off a long ball from the defensive end, Anderson Cathey with a rocket shot off a bobble outside the 18 box, and finishing off the first half of action was Perez again off a huge throw-in from Elijah Norman, score of 5-0 at halftime.
The second half saw more passing and action, with the Eagle’s entire bench being able to come off and contribute to the game as well. Emiliano Sanchez collected a Cane’s goal kick and drove it back in to make the score 6-0, with Adrian Juan following closely after off a powerful, long punt from goalie Ethan Nelson, making the final score of 7-0 for the Eagles.
Emiliano “Emi” Sanchez had this to say, “ I believe the team is stronger than ever, and we just prove it game after game. Defensively we are a brick wall, and offensively we are a goal-scoring machine.” Eagle’s record now stands at 6-0 for both JV and Varsity team.
Eagles will travel to Lenoir City next week on Thursday, April 4th, for the Varsity game at 6pm with JV following at 7:30pm.
