Evensville, TN -- Rhea County Lady Eagles basketball finished up thier holiday tournament schedule with 2 games in Rhea County. Rhea County won 73- over Harriman on Friday, January 3, 2025 and then won over Tellico on January 4, 2025 by a score of 59-42.
On Friday, the Lady Eagles jumped out to a 12-0 lead, with Lady Devils scoring their first basket with 3:40 left in quarter to trail 12-3. The Lady Eagles then went on a 10-2 run to end the quarter with a 22-5 lead. Jenna Burchard was big in the 2nd quarter with 10 points as Rhea won the quarter 19-9 to enjoy a 41-14 halftime lead. The Lady Eagles went on to win each quarter on their way to the 73-35. Jenna Burchard led the Eagles with 19 points and Lakyn Lockhart and Jaslyn Butler added 15 points, 10 of those in the 2nd half for Rhea County.Ansley Moon scored 10 to lead Harriman High School.
On Saturday, Rhea County played Telic and they won the first quarter 17-5 and followed with 23-10 second quarter for the 40-15 halftime lead. Rhea County was able to get some experience for players off the bench in the second half on their way to the 59-42 win. Lakyn Lockhart led the Lady Eagles with 20 points and Jetta Sharp added 10 points off the Rhea County Bench. Taylor Rose had 13 points to lead Tellico.
