Rhea Middle hosted McMinn Middle softball on Tuesday, 9/5/23. In a back-and-forth game the Lady Egles took an early 6-0 lead, but Lady Cherokees came back big with 7 runs in top of 2nd to take a 7-6 lead. Rhea Middle responded with 3 runs in 3rdto take 10-7 lead. McMinn reclaimed the lead with 5 runs in the top of the 4th inning to take 12-10 lead into bottom of the 4th. Lilleigh Lane and Briley Byrge opened with walks and Myca Butler had a double. It was then Landree Brown who batted and error allowed the winning run to score.
In a previous game last Thursday, Lady Eagles dominated McMinn Central 13-1. Bristol Brown was perfect 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and Briley Byrge scored 3 runs to lead the Lady Eagles. Myca Butler was the starting pitcher for Rhea Middle.
