Lady Eagles Go 6-5 in Regular Season And Improve Over the Year

Cleveland, TN -- Rhea Middle played Ocoee Middle to open the playoff in a win-to-move-on game and dropped a 6-5 decision to end their season. Lady Eagles scored 1 in first, but Ocoee came back with 3 runs to take 3-1 lead they increased to 5-1 in the 4th inning. Lady Eagles chipped away 1 run in 5th and 3 more in the 6th but fell just short of tying the game. The began the top of 6th with 4 singles by Landree Brown, Bristol Hennessey, Briley Byrge and Serinitee Jackson. They managed 2 more hits by Ava Sanders and Keeli Wilson and had tying and winning runners aboard, but could not get them home as Ocoee got the win and ended the Lady Eagles season. Lady Eagles had 13 hits on the evening with 6 coming in 5th inning.

Rhea Middle head coach Whitney Thompson said, "We saw improvement as the season went on and that’s most important. This was a fun group of girls to coach! We are going to miss our big group of 8th graders."

Moving up to the high school next year are Reece Brown, Ansley Breeding and Keeli Wilson, all from Rhea Middle School Moving on from Dayton City School are Carleigh Ashley, Aubrey Reese, Ava Sanders and Bristol hennessey.
