Lady Eagles Erupt for 5 Runs in 5th
Rhea County High School softball had big district win against rival Cookeville by 7-3 margin at home. Lady Eagles made the best of 5 hits, three Cookeville errors and two walks for the win. Hallie DeArman homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs to highlight the 5 run 5th inning. Peyton Douglas led Rhea County Eagles Softball with two hits in three at bats. Mckinley Mathis had one hit in two at bats, while driving in two run.
Madalynn Ray pitched Rhea County Eagles Softball to victory. Ray allowed four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four. Tomi Sims took the loss for Cookeville. The hurler went five innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out one.
