On Saturday, August 23rd, Rhea County High School JROTC Raider team hosted the first raider competition at Rhea County High School. The RCHS JROTC raider team had worked on building multiple courses over the summer and since school started, they have worked hard after school and on weekends to get it up and ready for the competition. The competition was student-led, briefed, graded and scored by the RCHS Raiders.
The competition consisted of 6 events including obstacle course, highlander, rope bridge, gauntlet, tirestacker, and ccr ( cross country rescue). Fifteen Schools from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky attended the event bringing a total of 21 teams to compete in Male, Female, and Coed Divisions. It was a great success with all teams competing hard throughout the day. The RCHS Raider Team plans to host again next year.
The RCHS Raider teams will compete in their first competition of the season on 6SEP25 at Spring Hill High School in Columbia, TN. It has been a great start to the Raider Season with hopes to return to Raider Nationals in October.
