Liya Butt 2nd: Emily Cathey 5th, Stephen Kerley 3rd, Corydon Butler 7th, Lead the Way For Rhea

Soddy Daisy, TN -- Comments: This meet was high school only. There were 7 teams competing (Chatt Central, McMinn Co, Sale Creek, Notre Dame, Soddy Daisy, Rhea County, Tyner). This is the first time a meet has been hosted at this particular venue. After all the rain from the past few days, the creek that runs through the back of the course was too high to cross, so the distance for this race only ended up being 2.2 miles. While I was disappointed that we weren't able to run the whole distance, this gave the kids the opportunity to really open up their strides and run fast - so all wasn't lost. The end of the girl's race was super competitive in the 1 and 2 slots. Liya Butt lost by less than a second. In the guys' race, we were missing a few of our top 5 guys, but Stephen and Corydon represented us well, placing in the top 10. Freshman Artem Serozhyn had an outstanding race, improving his 2 mile time by over a minute.
