Rhea County High School baseball won 15-4 over visiting Bledsoe on Friday, March 8, 2024. Eagles jumped on Bledsoe for 4 first inning runs, added 5 more in the second inning and 5 more in the third inning, before adding one last run on Maurice Shirley home run in the 5th inning. Rhea County's starter Junior Alex Latshaw threw 3 scoreless innings. Rex Pendergrass and Levi Love relieved and Bledsoe scored 4 runs off the relief pitching.
Shirley, Butler and Kilby were the RBI leaders with 4,3 and 2 respectively. Eagles had 9 hits total and were the beneficiary of 11 walks on the night. Latshaw picked up the win. Eagles ran their season record to 2-0. Eagles are next scheduled to play Kingston on Monday, March 11, 2024 with 7 pm first pitch. The originally scheduled Knox West game for 3/12/24 has been cancelled.
