August 1, 1927 - April 5, 2024

George “Henry” Jones, age 96 of Hixson, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at his home in Hixson. He was born in Walker County, GA, on August 11, 1927, the son of the late James Wilson Jones and Mabel (Cooper) Jones. He was also preceded in by his wife, Harriett O’Kelley Jones.

Henry had a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and was also owner/operator of Pro-Sew Shop in Chattanooga. He served his country in the US Navy in WWII and was a member of Clear Creek Church of Christ.

He is survived by his two sons, David Jones of Ooltewah and Steve Jones of Delaware; his one daughter, Connie Norwood of Athens, GA; and his six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Henry will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
