January 31, 1941 - February 28, 2025

Auldin Prentice Crane, age 84 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 27, 2025. He was born in Pikeville on January 31, 1941, the son of the late Arby Lee Crane and Elma (Hancock) Crane. He was preceded in death by his ten siblings, Minnie Ruth (Crane) Fann, Lillian Frances (Crane) Morgan, Virgil Granvil Crane, Bertha Virginia (Crane) Stephens, Cecil Ledell Crane, Gwendolyn “Nina” Crane, Philip Dale Crane, Douglas Wayne Crane, Raymond Eugene Crane, and Leonard Austin Crane.
Auldin was a 1959 graduate of Bledsoe County High School and lived most of his life in Dayton. He served in the US Navy as a boiler tech from 1959-1981 in San Diego, CA, Racine, WI, Memphis, TN, and Mayport, FL. He later retired as a boiler tech at Memorial Hospital in 2007. He was a life member of the American Legion, was post commander for 22 years, and was a van driver. He was a member of the VFW and was a lifelong member of New Harmony Church of Christ.
Auldin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Adamson) Crane; his three children, Shery Fritts of Dayton, Terry (Mitchell) Rogers of Pikeville, and Lisa (Robert) Streetman of Chickamauga, Georgia; his grandchildren, Alex (Charlee) Dugger of Dayton, James Hutton of Cleveland, Tennessee, Conrad Rogers of New Freedom, Pennsylvania, Jacqueline Rogers of Pikeville, Jarod Streetman of Chickamauga, Georgia, and Logan Streetman of Murfreesboro; and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Jones and Kenneth Swanson of Pikeville and JaMarcus Swafford, Makila Swafford, Briellé Gunter, and Renlee Dugger, all of Dayton.
Funeral services for Auldin will be in the funeral home chapel on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Steve Brown and Minister Tony Britt officiating. He will be laid to rest with Navy military honors at Rigsby Cemetery on Dayton Mountain after the service.
