Obituary: Mary Hill age 90 of Spring City

Mary Hill age 90 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 8, 1933 to the late C.K. and Velma Moyers Jones and was a lifetime resident of the area. Mary was a graduate of Spring City High School. She worked for the Rhea County Department of Education as a bus driver and high school cafeteria worker then later as the cafeteria manager at Spring City Elementary until the age of 82 when she retired after 30 years. She was “Mamaw” to everyone and always took care of anyone that needed her. Mary loved her “Monday Night at Mamaw’s” which has been held weekly for many years. She was a member of Pennine Baptist Church.

Mary is also preceded in death by her husband Kineard Hill, her son Donny Hill, her infant brother Danny Jones, her brothers Elmer, Henry, Eddie and Howard Jones, and her sisters Faye Alley and Martha Hood.

Survivors include her children Danny (Billynthia) Hill and Dicy (Don) Brown both of Spring City, Tennessee and Connie (Mike) Pile of Pall Mall, Tennessee, Jewell (Sam) Crisp of Spring City, Tennessee and Cole (Carol) Vanhooser of Georgia; her daughter-in-law Anne Hill of Upperville, Virginia; her grandchildren Amy (Jamie) Holloway, Steven Pile, Jacob (Tamika) Bianculli, Julie (Cameron) Burton, Lee Hill, April (Tony) Wesolowski, Hollie (fiancé Tyler Wyatt) Brown, Sarah (Adam) Warren, and Daniel Hill; her great grandchildren Xander and Darcy Holloway, Scarlet, Lilly and Lennox Bianculli, Jagger, River and Ava Wesolowski, Della Burton and Miles and Tilley Warren; and her special friend Pat Hester. The family would like to give a special thanks to Renee Argo, Gale Sheppard and Janie Beasley for helping with Mary’s care.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Didlake officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
