Loretta Edge Muecke, age 89 of Dayton, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. She was born in Nicholson, Georgia, on February 17, 1935, the daughter of the late H.B. Savage and Clifford (Smallwood) Savage. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Willy T. Edge.

Loretta moved to Dayton in 2016 after living in Kingston. She was a homemaker, was saved when she was 19, attended Friendship Full Gospel Church in Dayton, and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 25 years, James Muecke of Dayton; her daughter, JoAnn Shirley of Acworth, Georgia; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her step-children, Elizabeth Hamilton of Chattanooga and David (Liz) Muecke of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and her step-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Loretta will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dino Weingarten officiating followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, Tennessee, where they will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service
