Jerry Lynn Travis, 76, of Dayton, passed away on Friday June 28, 2024, surrounded by family at Life Care Center of Rhea County after a brief illness.  Jerry was a hard-working man who loved his family very much.  He enjoyed going to car shows, working in his yard, and hanging out in the garage with Wes “supervising” his work.  Going on picnics with his wife Sandra of 55 years, was very special to both of them.  They truly loved spending time together.  Jerry was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; Wallace and Viola (Monroe) Travis Sr. and  brother Sam Travis.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Eakins Travis, sons; Wes (Nikki) Travis, and Chris (Jennifer) Travis both of Dayton, brother; Wallace Travis Jr, 3 grandchildren, who were his whole world; Lucas (Hannah) Travis, Zac (Emily) Travis and Molly Travis as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Service for Jerry will be Sunday, June 30. 2024 at 4 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev Bill Ewing and Pastor Michael Shrum officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2-4PM.  Interment will follow at Buttram cemetery.
