Mr Suttles passes on March 30, 2020
Dayton, TN -- Jennings William Bryan Suttles, age 93, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2020. He was born on June 12, 1926, the son of the late Bill and Pearl (Mickel) Suttles, and was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. He was blessed to spend 69 years of marriage to Margie (Yates) Suttles, who welcomed him in Heaven. Jennings was preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Suttles, Frances Colvin, Shirley Hale, Wanda Watson, and Hazel Simpson; and two brothers, Harold Suttles and James Suttles.
Jennings spent 35 years of his life as a bus driver for the Rhea County School system as well as a driver for JC Young Oil Company. He also spent much of his time as a farmer. He was a member of The Grove, better known to him as Walnut Grove Full Gospel Church, where he served as a council member, a trustee, and where he raised all 5 of his children—Jerry (Beverly) Suttles, Faye (Glenn) Craighead, Evelyn (Larry) Ballard, Ronnie (Donna) Suttles, and Eddie (Diane) Suttles. He also blessed the lives of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, which currently number near 40. The family will have a private memorial service and Jennings will be buried alongside his wife at Buttram Cemetery. Arrangements are being made by Advantage Funeral Home.
