Imogene Pendleton Obituary

April 17, 1938 - November 21, 2025

Wilma Imogene Moffett Clarke Cochran Pendleton passed peacefully at home on November 21,2025. Loved by all, she was beautiful inside and out. She could do anything she set her mind to.

Imo was a gifted Master Gardener and Home Economist. She held a bachelor’s degree and was very proud of her Alma Mater Carson Newman College. Most of her career was spent in service to Rhea County at the Highway Department, Department of Education and at Rhea County Hospital.

Born at home in Wolf Creek, on Easter Sunday, April 17,1938, Imo was the seventh child of Ernest “Monroe” and Ruby Moffett. She lived most of her life in the Clear Creek Community. In Heaven, she has reunited with her parents and husbands James Ernest “Jim” Clarke, John Kyle Cochran and Kenneth Franklin Pendleton.  Her siblings there to greet her are Lorene Porter, Sara Ruth Hudson, JR Moffett, (infant), Glenn Moffett, Edd Moffett, Taft Moffett and Boyd Moffett.

Mom loved her huge family dearly. We will all miss her quick wit and ready laugh. She leaves daughter, Amy Clarke Landreth, grandchildren Grant and Erin Landreth, sister Addie and Paul Tallent, brother Ken and Linda Moffett, Sister-in-laws Sue Moffett, and Maxine Moffett and more nieces and nephews than you can shake a stick at.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30–4:30 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Rhea Memory Gardens with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating.

In lieu of flowers please spend time in nature or buy plants for your garden. Always enjoy time with your loved ones.

Coulter Garrison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
