Ginger Phillips Obituary

June 19, 1968 ~ December 23, 2025

Ginger Sizemore Phillips, age 57, of Dayton, passed unexpectedly after a period of personal struggle, entering the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on June 19, 1968, to Max Albert and Billie Jo Sizemore. Ginger attended Rhea County High School and was of the Church of God faith, more recently attending City Church in Dayton. An over-the-road truck driver by trade, she was deeply family-oriented, and her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and attending the many events in which they were involved. Her family will deeply miss her loving presence; they find comfort and celebrate knowing that she has reached her eternal home in the presence of Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Max Albert and Billie Jo Sizemore and grandparents, Albert and Dorothy Sizemore. She is survived by her children, Christopher (Ashley) Hoover and Zachary (Megan) Hoover; her brother, Johnny (Pam) Sizemore; her sisters, Pam Sizemore and Julie Fitzgerald; a special loving aunt, Debbie Sizemore Lauer; special uncles, Don Sizemore and Kahana Sizemore; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoover (her sunshine), Zachary Hoover Jr., and Max Hoover.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kahana Sizemore, Mathew Sizemore, Eric Walden, Tyler Walden, Hannah Walden, and Spencer Fitzgerald.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Spence Cemetery.
