Former Rhea County Eagle Softball Player Abby Wall joins Kentucky State Coaching Staff

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky State softball head coach David Morton Jr. announced the addition of Abby Wall as assistant coach.

"We are excited to have Coach Wall join the program. She will be working mainly with our pitchers, and her playing and coaching experience will help the student-athletes get to the next level. More importantly, her values are in line with where we want the program to go," Head Coach Morton said.

Wall comes to Kentucky State after a season coaching stint at Cleveland State Community College. During her time with the Cougars, she had student-athletes sign with institutions such as the University of West Georgia, Tennessee Wesleyan, and Wofford College. As an assistant coach the Cougars finished 33-18 overall record and a 20-16 mark in Region Seven play in the 2024 season.

A former student-athlete, Wall played three seasons as a standout pitcher at Union, earning multiple Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors. She ranked nationally in opposing batting average and set a Union record by pitching 10 innings in a single game.

Wall is a graduate of Union College and a native of Dayton, Tennessee.
