December 23, 1941 ~ January 31, 2025

Eugene Dixon, 83, of Dayton, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on January 31, 2025. Born on December 23, 1941, in Penn Hills, PA, Eugene lived a life full of love, joy, and service to his family and community.  He was also a proud veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force.   

A devoted husband for 42 years, Eugene was married to his beloved wife, Shemaya Belacas Dixon. He was preceded in death by his mother and brothers. His legacy lives on through his loving wife, children, and granddaughter.

Eugene was a man of many passions. He loved playing golf, working around the house, and finding joy in the small pleasures of life, like online shopping and helping his family. A true cook at heart, Eugene was well known for making delicious breakfasts for his loved ones. He also enjoyed reading Sci-Fi novels and watching his favorite show, America’s Got Talent, which always brought a smile to his face.

Known for his warm and friendly demeanor, Eugene had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. His bright smile and kind heart made a lasting impression on all who met him. His Christian faith was the foundation of his life, guiding him through every season with grace and compassion.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Shemaya Dixon; his children, Kristina McCool, Shaun Dixon, and Ian Dixon; and his beloved granddaughter, Skylynn Rayne Dixon. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service to honor Eugene’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Schafer officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the start of the service.
