Donald Edwin Price Jr Obituary

December 22, 1969 - April 11, 2025

Donald Edwin Price Jr. finished his race, took the hand of Jesus, and entered into Heaven on Friday April 11, 2025 after a 5 month battle with Cancer. He was 55.

Donald was born to parents Donald Edwin Price Sr. and Geraldine Francis Owens Price on December 22, 1969. The next year, just before his first birthday, Donald acquired an additional Mom when his dad married Sue Wilkey Kelly. Sue and Donald had a special bond for the rest of her life. When Donald was little, he kept us all on our toes. He always had a joyful personality, and was full of fun, shenanigans and energy. He had the most beautiful blue eyes that would sparkle like diamonds with every mischievous grin, and he kept that sparkle his whole life. He was incredibly curious about life. He loved The Lord and all people, especially his family members. He was knowledgeable about all that was happening in the world around him. He kept up with all current events, from medical research, aliens, politics to weather, and loved to share and talk about all he knew of the latest happenings. He had several hobbies, but his favorite was coin collecting, something he started doing as a youngster with his dad. He also enjoyed collecting gems, semi precious stones, and crystals. He knew each one’s meaning and what they symbolized. He loved to make bracelets from them to give to family, friends, and anyone he thought needed one. He loved all the little creatures, birds, hummingbirds, squirrels, rabbits and a family of ground hogs, that lived in his yard. He enjoyed watching them and keeping them fed. Donald was a very caring person, always concerned about those he loved, their well being, and he was especially concerned if our hearts belonged to Jesus. The last years of our Mom’s, Sue Price, life, Donald was her live in care giver and constant companion in her battle with Alzheimer’s, and he never grew weary in doing good for her. He was always generous, compassionate, and patient. Donald was truly a sweet and gentle soul.

Donald is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Leonard and Mattie Ruth Price, maternal grandmothers, Stella Owens, and Nanny Mabel Clayton Wilkey. Mother Geraldine Havis, Mom Sue Price, Dad Don Price, Nephew Joshua Finley, and Great-Niece baby Lanie Couch.

Donald grew up working in the family grocery business. As a young man, he had aspirations of working in the medical field. In the mid 1990’s he moved to Acworth, GA and worked in Home Health, and as a Physical Therapy Assistant. He also attended Reinhardt University in Waleska, GA., while there he met Tanya and started his family. He returned to Spring City, Tn in 1999, and worked as a guard at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.
