Diane Frances (Dunn) Wampler, age 60 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. She was born in Dayton on October 17, 1963, the daughter of the late Robert Wenell Dunn and Patricia A. (Moumblo) Dunn of Dayton, who survives her. Diane’s brother, Wenell Dunn, also preceded her in death.
Diane lived in Dayton her whole life, was a 1981 graduate of Rhea County High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Tennessee Wesleyan University, and was a homemaker. She enjoyed playing her guitar, painting, writing poetry, singing, and loved her cats. She attended Spivey Memorial United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, Diane is survived by her husband, Eric Wampler of Dayton; her son, Aaron Howard of Sale Creek; her grandson, Zander Howard of Dayton; her two sisters, Colleen (Mike) Dodd of Dayton and Michele Dunn of Cleveland; her nephew, T.J. Dodd of Dayton; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services for Diane will be in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Ewing officiating. She will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens next to her brother after the service.
The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, TN, where they will receive friends one hour before the service.
