September 6, 1992 ~ June 17, 2024 

Cody Trent Smith, age 31, passed away at his home in Dayton, TN, on June 17, 2024.  He was born September 6, 1992, to Brandon and Monica (Hickman) Smith, in Chattanooga, TN.  He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of the New Union Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas Kane Smith Roberson; brother, Nicholas Gough; adoptive father, Charles Smith; grandmother, Judy Revis.

Cody is survived by his parents, Brandon Smith and Monica Hickman; adoptive mother, Joyce Smith; three sons, C.J., Garrett, and Noah; one daughter; and step-father, Joe Fouche;  two sisters, Brooklynn and Myranda; four brothers, Charles, Darryl, Jason, and Christopher; maternal grandmother, Lona Hickman; paternal grandmother, Vickie Smith; and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Monday, June 24, 2024, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton, TN.   The service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel, with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating, and burial at Spence Cemetery.
