February 18, 1954 to October 1, 2025 

Cheri Susan Mills, age 71, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was born in Rockwood, Tennessee, on February 18, 1954, to Bobby and Helen Stage Howard.

She was a lifelong resident of the area and was of the Church of God faith. Cheri was a devoted Christian, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed. She loved her Savior, Jesus, and dedicated her life to sharing His word with others. A gifted songwriter and singer, she wrote hundreds of songs that reflected her strong faith and love for the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John L. Jolly Jr. She is survived by her husband, William “Buster” Mills; children, Angela (Randy) Walthers, Stephanie (Daniel) Huling, Nicole (Brian) Green, Missy (Michael) Lawson, Matthew (Justine) Jolly, and Jeanette Jolly, “bonus child Brittany (Quinton) Carter”; sister, Vicky Goldston; brothers, Eddie Howard and Bobby Howard Jr.; and her best friend, Tracie Lester. She also leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM  in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Matthew Jolly and Daniel Huling officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
