Bradley Wins 89-34 Over Lady Eagles

Cleveland, TN 2/26/24 -- Rhea County Lady Eagles earned a spot in semifinals of Region 3 basketball tournament against the Bradley Central Bearettes on Monday, February 26, 2024. Bearettes came in with a 28-1 record and ranked # 1 in the State and coming off a State Championship. Bradley came into the game as last year's State Champ and had won 7 State Championships and earned a spot at State 33 times. Rhea County earned a spot with their win over Ooltewah 47-38 last Friday and Bradley won 89-34 over Walker Valley. So you couldn't blame Lady Eagles if they were nervous.

Bradley came out shooting well and their press was good, so Lady Eagles fell behind early and lost 89-34. Lady Eagles played better second half, being outscored 33-22 and continued to play hard to the very last shot, a basket by Emma Reeves at the buzzer for the final 89-34 score. Scoring for Rhea County: Jenna Burchard 10, Jetta Sharp 9, Kloe Reeves 6, Lakyn Lockhart 4, Jo Bishop 3 and Emma Reeves 2. Scoring for Bradley Central: Ware 19, Fields 15, Stowell 15, Brewer 14, Green 8, Wilcox 3.

The Lady Eagles finish the year at 16-17.
