Bonnie Venita (Crowe) Hathaway Obituary

September 2, 1931 - December 20, 2024

Bonnie Venita (Crowe) Hathaway, age 93 of Dayton, passed away at The Courtyard at Deer Ridge on Friday, December 20, 2024. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, on September 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Samuel Franklin Crowe and Sarah Virginia (Smith) Crowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ellison Hathaway; her daughter, Sharon Dalene Hathaway Gant; and her siblings, Edward Crowe, Louise Garren, Samuel Crowe, Dalene Bowman, and Gary Crowe.

Bonnie lived in Columbia, South Carolina, and Asheville, North Carolina, before moving to Dayton in 1996. She was employed as a dietician at high schools in Asheville and Columbia. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing the piano, and reading. She attended Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Mike (Kathy) Hathaway of Dayton; her grandchildren, Luke (Jasmine) Hathaway of Charlotte, North Carolina, Rachel (Jared) Marshall of Dayton, and Lenora Gant Sterling of Virginia; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob Marshall, Jolyn Marshall, and Alex Hathaway.

Funeral services for Bonnie will be in the funeral home chapel on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Fields officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens after the service.
