Tennessee Valley -- Slavery and human trafficking sound like things that happen in foreign countries until you realize that one of the largest cities affected by slavery and human trafficking is Atlanta, We live near a route known for trafficking. Despite the over 10,000 unique trafficking cases reported in 2020 and the estimated 300,000 victims, there are only an estimated 700 beds in the entire United States for survivors of trafficking.
With this need in mind, David and Jo Haggard felt called by God to start a faith-based non-profit organization, right here in the Tennessee Valley: Blazing Hope Ranch. The Ranch utilizes equine therapy and a transitional living home to restore wholeness to female survivors of human trafficking, and offers a safe place to heal. Additionally, the Ranch promotes safety and prevention efforts for kids through "Camp Run Free".
The programs and ministries that the Ranch offers are life-changing, but they’re also costly. This fall, Blazing Hope would like to invite you to "The Hootenanny for Hope', which includes live music, food, a silent auction, and the opportunity to hear more about what’s going on with slavery and human trafficking. You’ll be able to watch artist Karis Feezell complete and auction off an original piece live at the event, as well as bid on various items donated from individuals and businesses around the county.
For more information, visit the "Blazing Hope Ranch" website and the associated facebook page: Blazing Hope Ranch. Both sites have a donate button, where you can donate to the non-profit for helping to deal with the effects of human slavery and trafficking. On the Blazing Hope Ranch wegpage there is a section, which shows current needs for the organization. Click on the link to see Current needs.
