Billy Anderson age 81 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Cleveland, Tennessee.

He was born on July 4, 1943 in Palmer, Tennessee to the late James Thomas and Elvie Nolan Anderson Sr. and has lived in this area since 1979. Billy attended school in Grundy County and was drafted in the United States Army serving in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He then worked as a janitor at TVA until his retirement in 2003. Billy was a member of the American Legion Post #203, serving as Chaplin. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Billy was a member at New Hope Baptist Church in Spring City.

Billy is preceded in death by his brothers Raymond Anderson, James Thomas Anderson Jr., and Harvey Lee Anderson, and his sister Nadine McWain.

Survivors include his daughter Lucinda (Mark) Lambeth of Spring City, Tennessee; his brother Jacob (Neat) Anderson of Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee; his sister Mary Turner of Palmer, Tennessee; his two grandchildren Sheyenne and Taylor Lambeth; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral with Rev. Paul Daniel officiating. Interment with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 1:00 PM E.T. at Palmer Cemetery, 1412 Main Street, Palmer, Tennessee 37365. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 PM at Vaughn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Legion Post #203, 179 West Jackson Ave., Spring City, Tennessee 37381 in his memory.
