Barry Roddy Obituary

December 15, 1959 ~ March 31, 2025

Barry Roddy, 65, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on March 31, 2025. He was born on December 15, 1959, in Dayton to the late Leland "Fuzz" Roddy and Lois Ann Elsea.

Barry lived a life full of hard work, love, and faith. A dedicated truck driver, he spent many years on the road providing for his family. He was a faithful member of the Baptist faith, attending Wayside Baptist Church, where his commitment to his faith was a guiding force in his life.

Barry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife of many years, Patsy Pendleton Roddy; five children, Tiffany (Ryan) Bishop of Dayton, Brooke Roddy of Dayton, Madison (Grayson) Randolph of Cookeville, Charles (Mandie) Linebarger of Evensville, and Cody Linebarger of Spring City. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers, Dwayne Roddy of Graysville and Curtis (Karen) Roddy of Sale Creek; and a niece, Brandi Roddy, and nephew, Vince Roddy along with one uncle and several aunts.

Barry was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Chloe and Kyler Akin, Lexi and Josephine Bishop, Brenlee Hufstetler, Alyssa, Jade, and Millie Linebarger, and five great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his deep love and devotion to his family and his passion for sports.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Randolph officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the service time.

In this time of grief, Barry's family finds comfort in knowing his legacy of love, faith, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his special friend, Spud Thomas and to Amber Dugger.
