Shirley Emel age 78 of Spring City died Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Rhea County Medical Center.

She was born on February 19, 1946 to the late Carlton and Elizabeth Gernert Fedder. Shirley was graduate of Cornwell High School in Lancaster County, PA. She, together with her husband Kenneth owned and operated Steel-Cadd Inc. for over 30 years. Shirley was a beloved mom, who loved her family; especially her grandchildren. She was an avid baker and her family called her “The Animal Whisperer”, especially with dogs. Shirley was one of 5 children.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years Kenneth Emel of Spring City, sons Frank (Mary Lou) Emel of Spring City and David (Marney) Emel of Jacksonville, FL and her grandchildren Hayli, Jason, Jimmy, Madison and Nolan.

There will be no visitation or services.
