December 2, 1941 - October 3, 2024

Donald Simpson age 82 of Grandview, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on December 2, 1941 to the late Claude and Sue Robbins Simpson and was a lifetime resident of this area. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force. He was the former pastor of Mercy Baptist Church. Donald loved the Lord and loved to serve Him. He never missed an opportunity to share the Lord with others. Donald loved to sing, play the guitar, and spend time with his family. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Donald is also preceded in death by his daughter Flora Ann “Sissy” Simpson, sons Barry, Michael, and Tommy Simpson, step-daughter Shaunda Webb, step-granddaughter Melissa Webb, sister Faye Bean, brother Wayne Simpson, step-grandson Jesse Reed, and son-in-law Richard Barcus.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years Leila Simpson of Grandview, Tennessee; daughter Robin Barcus of Grandview, Tennessee; step-sons Allen (Diane) Reed of Carrolton, Georgia, Rocky (Kathy) Reed of Temple, Georgia, and Shone (Terry) Reed of Dayton, Tennessee; step-daughter Debbie (Dewayne) Wagner of Grandview, Tennessee; sister Carolyn Phelps of Snellville, Georgia; daughter-in-law Jackie Simpson of Anderson, Indiana; grandchildren Mitchell (Heather) Simpson, Susan Barcus, Stacie Barcus, and Holly Giles; and several nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Ward and Rev. Justin Dannel officiating. Interment with military honorswill follow in Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
