Spring City Wins 22-12 Over Loudon To Earn Home Playoff Game

E. J. Casteneda Leads the Bulldogs to Win Over Redskins

September 2024 -- Spring City, TN -- Spring City hosted Loudon Middle with a trip to the playoffs and possible home field advantage on the line against Loudon on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Casteneda hooked up with Spencer Campbell on a touchdown pass early in the second quarter for all the offense either team could muster in the first half. The two point conversion was no good.

Loudon took the second half kickoff and drove down field for a touchdown for the 6-6 tie and two point conversion was unsuccessful. Bulldogs began a long drive that went past the end of the third quarter and with Bulldogs at the Loudon 29 yard line Casteneda rolled out looking to pass, but a path to the end zone opened up and Casteneda took it. Harlan Thomas was successful on two point conversion and Bulldogs led 14-6.

The Redskins received the kickoff and Purdy was very successful running the ball for Loudon. Purdy found an open receiver for the touchdown to pull Loudon within 2, but Bulldog defense kept Loudon out of endzone for conversion and the Bulldogs stayed on top 14-12.

On the next possession, Bulldogs once again called on the legs of Casteneda as he rambled 75 yards for the touchdown. He also found Gaskow for the two point conversion pass to extend the lead to 22-12. The Bulldogs defense held on Loudon's next possession and forced turnover on downs. Spring City ran out the clock and earned a home playoff game on Thursday 10/3/24
