Anna “Cil” Pelfrey Obituary

September 9, 1933 - September 27, 2024

Anna “Cil” Pelfrey, age 91 of Dayton, passed away at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center on Friday, September 27, 2024. She was born on September 9, 1933, in Hanau, Germany, the daughter of the late Karl Berglehner and Anna (Gast) Berglehner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pelfrey; and her son, David Pelfrey.

Cil was raised in Germany, and while in Germany she was employed as a goldsmith. She moved to Dayton in 1966 where she was employed as a bank teller for many years. She was a member of New Union Baptist Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star 360 in Dayton. She was an accomplished skeet and trap shooter.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The family wants to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Deborah, RoseMary, and Karen; her neighbors, Lou and Anthony, Nathaniel and Jenna, Amanda and family; and her special friend, Cheryl Morgan.

A funeral service for Cil will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Pierce Cemetery in Evensville.
