November 22, 1933 - August 15, 2024

Jeanelle “Jan” Travis, age 90 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at her home. She was born in Dayton, on November 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Gother and Nellie (Hafley) Coxey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Travis; her son, Michael Travis; and her five siblings, Noel Coxey, York Coxey, Catherine Bishop, Edna Jolley, and Dorothy Coxey.

Jan lived in Dayton most of her life, graduating from Rhea Central High School the Class of 1951. Jan was selfless and cared about others more than herself. She loved Jesus above all. She enjoyed sewing, painting, quilting, canning, and watching the Braves. She was a member of South Dayton Church of God.

She is survived by her three sons, Steve (Vicki) Travis, Tim (Tammy) Travis, and Greg (Joy) Travis, all of Dayton; her seven grandchildren, Justin Travis, Chris (Rachelle) Travis, Tiffany (Caleb) Stinson, Trista (Rusty) Hunter, Avery Travis, Lindsey Travis, and Hannah (Tyler) Buff; and her 12 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Shelby, Jackson, Lilli, Cooper, Ava, William, Caz, Collyns, Jace, Jett, and Jax.

Funeral services for Jan will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Page officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Rhea Memory Gardens.
