June 25, 1942 - August 11, 2024 Sale Creek

Katherine Jewel Higdon Jordan, age 82 of Sale Creek, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at her home. She was born in LaFayette, GA, on June 25, 1942, the daughter of the late Willie Dee Higdon and Robbie Dean (Poole) Higdon. She was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Daris Akers, Ruby Scott, and Willie Bell Walker.

Katherine was a graduate of Sale Creek High School. She was employed at Dupont, Kayser Roth for many years as a supervisor, and a school bus driver for Hamilton County. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved her grandson, Lucas. She was a member of Sale Creek Church of God for over 50 years.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lonnie Jordan of Sale Creek; her daughter, Heather (Donnie) Thompson of Huntsville, AL; her grandson, Lucas Benjamin Thompson of Huntsville, AL; her five brothers, Danny (Chasity) Higdon, John (Debbie) Higdon, and Stanley (Wadean) Higdon, all of Sale Creek, Eddie (Pam) Higdon of Dayton, and Dean Higdon of Soddy Daisy; and her two sisters, Billie Ruth (Spud) Jordan of Sale Creek, and Alice Rievley of Soddy Daisy.

Funeral services for Katherine will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Terry Bolton officiating. She will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens.
