Talaysia Smith’s Big Day Propels Spring City Middle Bulldogs Past McMinn

Spring City, TN -- 8/5/24 -- Talaysia Smith drove In four runs on three hits to lead SC past McMinn 13-2 on Monday. Talaysia singled in the second scoring three, tripled in the first scoring two, and doubled in the third scoring one.

SC jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Maysa Hampton doubled, scoring one run, Talaysia tripled, scoring two runs and Sienna Fisher drew a walk, scoring one run.

SC scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the second inning. Maysa doubled, scoring one run, Talaysia singled, scoring three runs, and Alyssa Johnson drew a walk, scoring one run.

SC added to their lead in the bottom of the third inning after Hampton singled, Talaysia doubled, and Karley Smith singled, each scoring one run.

Ella Mullins earned the win for SC. The starting pitcher gave up only two hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out nine and walking none.

Maysa and Talaysia were a force in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for SC. SC Bulldogs had a strong eye at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Abbagayle Buffenbarger and Sienna Fisher led

the team with three free passes each.
