Eagles Get 2-1 Win Over CCS to Move Record to 2-1
Evensville, TN -- 3/20/23
Rhea County Middle School Soccer opened the season with a split of two games before Spring Break and moved their record to 2-1 with a win a 2-1 win over Chattanooga Christian School on Monday 3/20/23. Before Spring Break the Eagles team, made up of players from Rhea Middle, Dayton City, Spring City Middle and home school players lost in home opener vs Avery Trace Middle School a 3-1. They came back with 3-1 win on the road vs Athens Middle. The Eagles next host Lake Forest with a 5 pm varsity game scheduled on Thursday, 3/23/23.
Against Chattanooga Christian School, neither team dented the net in the first half, but CCS found the net just after start of the the second half. Rhea Middle responded within a couple of minutes with a goal by Anderson Cathey. Both teams made advances into the other's net, but nobody found the net until around the five-minute mark. It was Ian Arnold, who found the net and gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead they would not relinquish.
