Rhea Middle Soccer Completes Preseason, Opens on 2/26/26 At Home vs Ocoee

Rhea Middle Soccer had an interesting weekend of games. Friday, RMS boys traveled to Signal Mountain, where both Our V and JV lost 0-2. RMS came away with quite a few things to work on from that night and addressed to the boys. Saturday morning, RMS traveled to the Cleveland Play Day held at the high school and it ended was a beautiful day on the turf. RMS Varsity and JV came out and played Signal Mt. again, first games and the Varsity made all of the changes and adjustments that coaches asked of them and looked like an entirely different team out there on Saturday from just a few hours earlier the night before.

The Eagles ended up winning 2-0 vs. Signal, goals by Gavin McCosh (assist Sawyer Prudhomme) and Titus LeBlanc with a beautiful 30 yard direct kick to the far upper corner, which pumped our boys up.

The Junior Varsity lost to Signal again 0-3, but they looked a whole lot better and actually scored twice but were recalled due to off-sides. The second JV game vs. Ocoee, they came back from a 0-1 deficit and ended up winning in the second half 2-1, great effort all around with goals by Alex Santiago and Landen Fugate (assist Jaxxon Cox).

The Varsity's second game was vs. Hunter Middle, where Rhea scrapped it out for a 3-1 win as well, Goals by Sawyer Prudhomme (assist Titus LeBlanc direct kick), Steven Shaver (assist Jacob Brock), and Ben Saado (assist Sawyer P.). The third was later in the evening, at 5pm. The team played, it wasn't our best played game after a long day, and Eagles lost 0-2.

Coach Norman said, "Lenoir played physically aggressive with few calls against them, and a hard slide tackle took out Rhea's starting winger/outside mid, Manny Juarez, with a flip and head bashed against the turf.

Manny is presently under concussion protocol, which is a blow to the starting line-up and the team overall. He is a vital asset to the team offensively and defensively and as an 8th grade leader.

Prayers for Manny in his recovery would be appreciated. Hopefully he is back in time for April games and for 8th grade night and the playoffs. We were missing 5 players due to sickness this weekend, so please pray for all of this sickness to wipe out and leave our boys alone and healthy!"
