James Clyde Roddy, Jr., age 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Parkridge Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1954, in Dayton, Tennessee, to the late James Clyde Roddy, Sr., and Dove Roddy.

James was a caring and devoted son who lovingly cared for his parents throughout their lives. He had a deep interest in history, particularly military history, inspired by his father’s service in five wars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by those who held a special place in his life. He is survived by his cousins, Spencer (Cookie) Smith, Becky (W.L.) Hall, Debbie (Toby) Gillam, and Kathy Dodd. A special friend Paul Hughes.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:00PM at  Buttram Cemetery in Dayton, Tennessee.
