August 13, 1960 ~ December 10, 2025 

Charles Richard Riggs, age 65, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was born in Dayton, Tennessee, on August 13, 1960, to the late George and Faye Riggs.

Charles was a lifelong resident of the area and was of the Pentecostal faith, attending the Four-Square Church. He was a proud graduate of Rhea County High School, Class of 1978. Throughout his life, he helped raise several children and was known for his love of animals and his devotion to his family. He enjoyed attending various community events and was deeply passionate about politics, as well as a strong supporter of law enforcement. Charles was also recognized for his strong work ethic, often putting in many hours marked by loyalty and selfless dedication. In his leisure time, he enjoyed cooking and was a UT-K fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Riggs.

Charles is survived by his wife, Trish Maines-Riggs; his sister, Teresa (Bob) Hulgan; and his brother, Dean Riggs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Brad Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 PM in the funeral home parlor. Burial will follow the service on Sunday in Add Smith Cemetery.
